Fire alarm servicing — your questions answered
BS 5839-1 requires commercial fire alarm systems to be serviced at least every 6 months by a competent engineer. Residential systems under BS 5839-6 are typically annual. We default to twice-a-year servicing and auto-schedule both visits.
